In the meantime you can find tips to help maintain your grass pitch and get it match fit below.

Ensure your pitch drains well by clearing manholes and ditches.

Inspect and maintain your pitch's drainage channels by clearing any nearby manholes or ditches.

Repair the pitch straight after a match by fixing divots with a fork.

As soon as you can following a game, use a fork to repair any divots that have formed on the pitch. Divoting will help repair the pitch and lift any depressions in the soil.

Get those iconic green stripes by brushing your pitch ahead of a game. You'll also get a better quality cut if you brush before mowing.

Brush your pitch before mowing to remove dew and improve the quality of the cut. Brushing also reduces the chance of diseases and debris dispersing. Plus you'll get those iconic green stripes if you brush the pitch before a game.

Repair goalmouths quickly after a game to keep up the grass coverage.

To ensure the goalmouth is ready for your next game, make repairs as soon as possible after the match. This will make sure you have a good grass cover and level surface around the goalmouth. Gently relieve compact soil with a fork, remove any debris and top dress. Finish off by overseeding and water as needed.

Give your surface that clean, green look by removing loose grass and other debris.

Scarifying is the process of removing decayed thatch on the surface of your pitch to allow the grass below to receive proper air, nutrient and water intake. Proper scarification will help give the turf a green, clean look.
