Let's GO 2026!

Thanks to funding from the Premier League, The FA and Government, the Football Foundation is kicking off another huge year of support for grassroots clubs across England.  

Since 2000 the Football Foundation has been the biggest supporter of grassroots football on and off the pitch, and the UK’s biggest sports charity is gearing up for 2026 to deliver even more grassroots facility improvements.​ 

To help ensure everyone has access to a great place to play, the Foundation has a full line-up of funding opportunities, whether that’s for new goalposts, floodlights to shine a light on brilliant players, a grass pitch that can be used all year round, or a community space that will be welcoming to all. In addition, the team at the Foundation have a wealth of support and guidance for everyone who is thinking of applying for or who has received Football Foundation funding.

In addition to our small grants, we will continue to provide funding to ensure our support is reaching those who need it most, including:  

• Engaging local communities in physical activity through our Active Through Football programmes and Football Foundation PlayZones – our small-sided pitches which can include line markings or equipment for popular sports, such as cricket stumps or basketball hoops, dependent on community need.  
• Delivering more Hubs - facilities that host football alongside other sports, physical activities, and community services - to ensure that, whether it’s a freezing, wet and dark Tuesday night in January or a sunny summer Sunday in June, there are more and better places to play for all.​
• Harnessing the influence of the inspirational Lionesses to support the women’s and girls' game through the Lionesses HERe to Play Fund which provides equal access to suitable activities and opportunities to play.
