25 years of the Football Foundation: How funding has helped football to thrive at Saffron Dynamo FC

1 Apr 2026

Back in 2010, funding from the Premier League, The FA and the Government’s Football Foundation helped Saffron Dynamo FC take a major step forward in their development, with a £189,000 grant supporting the construction of a new changing pavilion at their Kings Park home.

At the time, the club was ambitious to grow but limited by their facilities. The new pavilion provided a vital foundation, enabling the club to expand their offer, improve the matchday experience and create a more welcoming environment for players and the wider community.

Fifteen years on, that investment continues to make an impressive impact.

This growth reflects the original ambition behind the 2010 project – to increase the number of teams and create a sustainable future for the club. As Development Manager Martin Stanley explains.

“Without the funding from the Football Foundation, our ground and facility improvements would never have been possible.

“The moment that our grant approval arrives for the dedicated project has always been that eureka point that drives this club on to our pathway to continual improvements.
