Football Foundation teams up with Local Government Association for landmark virtual event

The Football Foundation is jointly hosting a major virtual event with the Local Government Association (LGA) on 19 November, at 11am.

Titled 'Unlocking the Power of Football Investment' the webinar will showcase how local football and community sports facilities help transform lives, by getting people active and improving their mental health, by strengthening communities and empowering younger generations. And as this is investment into infrastructure, it also supports communities’ economic recovery. Over the next few years, getting more people playing football will help communities recover from the broad-ranging health impacts of Covid-19 and make them more resilient.

The Football Foundation has been working with local authorities and partners across England to create Local Football Facility Plans for every local authority region in the country. The plans set out specific local needs to increase football participation and capture the wider community benefits of investing in facilities over the next decade. We’re now ready to move to the next stage of delivering these plans and this event marks the launch of this activity. 

The webinar will help senior local government decision-makers understand how they can get Football Foundation funding and support to deliver their plans in ways that support their strategic priorities.
