Mayor of London: Facilities Fund

April 2012 saw Min Patel, former England and Kent cricketer, open three state-of-the-art bay practice areas at OD CUACO Cricket Clubs.

As an ECB Focus Club, OD CUACO is committed to the development of the grassroots game, providing coaching and playing opportunities for young people in their community.  The club urgently needed to upgrade their practice facilities and were delighted to be awarded the grant from the Facility Fund.

This grant, together with significant grants from the England and Wales Cricket Trust and the Lord's Tavernerswill not only benefit their current 100 young cricketers, but will also enable the club to build on and improve the current opportunities they offer to local schools and the community as a whole.

Colin Willis, the club's Chairman, said, "Without this support, we could never have afforded such a high quality practice facility from our own resources.  This represents a significant investment in the sport and having high quality cricket facilities accessible to the community will be key to sustaining participation in grass roots cricket in this area over the coming years."
