How many years can a project run for?

How many years can a project run for?

A project can run for a maximum of three years. Each new team in the project is funded for two years. At least one new team must be started in the first year of the grant and additional teams can be started in the second year of a grant.

If you start two or more new teams in the first year, the grant will be awarded over two years (e.g. season 2013–14 and 2014–15). If you start one (or more) additional teams in the second year (2014–15), this/these team(s) would be supported in that second year, as well as the following year (2015–16). This would take the total project length to three years e.g. 2013 to 2016.

This is better explained in the table below:

Total number of new teams

Year 1

Year 2

Year 3

Maximum grant total

2+

(A)

£4,000

£1,000

N/A

£5,000

2+

(B)

£2,000

£2,500

£500

£5,000

(A) – All new teams start in year one, total project length is two years.

(B) – New teams start in year one and year two, total project length is three years.

In the first year of support for a new team (or teams), the amount of funding is much more than you would get for the same team (or teams) in the second year. This will encourage teams to prepare for when the Grow the Game grant finishes.
